Why we use 250 ohm resister in series
hart communicator?
Answer Posted / carl_ellis
HART communications requires a minimum of 230 ohms to
develop a sufficient voltage drop for the 1200 baud FSK HART
signal to be 'seen' by a HART communicator/modem.
The capacitance in a DC power supply acts as a low pass
filter which filters/strips off the FSK HART data.
Additional loop resistance is needed for HART communications
to take place.
If there is insufficient loop resistance, the HART
communicator/modem will fail to establish HART communications.
In normal field work, it is assumed that the analog input
to which the field instrument is wired will provide the
minimum resistance necessary. Most DCS analog inputs have
an input resistance of 250 ohms. But not all devices do.
And when bench testing/configuring HART instruments it is
not uncommon to connect a DC power supply, but not an analog
input. A HART communicator/modem will not work with just a
power supply powering a HART field instrument. The loop
requires a minimum of 230 ohms.
A 250 ohm resistor is commonly used for a bench
test/configuration because they're commonly available in the
instrument shop.

Lux meter is the measuring device to measure the lux level of lighting fixture. in industrial sector two types of lighting fixture is being used as street lighting purpose 1. HPSV (Sodium) and 2. HPMV (Mercury). HPMV having white light which is an combination of red, blue and yellow colour, while HPSV haivng Yellow lighting. in HPSV red & blue colour will be absent. during measurement of the lux level of HPSV and HPMV fixture. 1. Lux meter can measure the actual lux level of both fixture? 2. or it will show false reading for HPSV fixture light as it has only yellow light present. please give me answer
Hi i am aneesh, done btech in applied electronics & instrumentatiin. Why does a pressure gauge installed on reactor, doesn't have any vent line below to release the pressure? Is it any kind of designing mistake or it actually does not require any vent line? And if it does not require any vent line below it then how we are gonna release the pressure built inside the pressure gauge?
