You cant calibrate an actuator, you can just do setting.(
setting means better performance and more accurate ).
But calibration is the process of measuring the actual
performance of an instrument-under-test using lab
instruments ( or we can do this in the field ) that in
turn have significantly better performance than the
instrument-under-test. The measured performance is then
compared to published data sheet specifications. If observe
the instrument to be out-of-specification, instrument must
adjust and re-test .( for example we can do calibration for
a thermocouple or pressure transmitter )

Calculate the maximum pressure drop that can be allowed to occur across a control valve, so that we can prevent cavitation / flashing from occurring. Use the following formula: Δ P allow = Km (P1 – PvapourA) where, Δ P allow - the maximum allowable differential pressure for sizing purposes, or terminal pressure drop; Km- the valve recovery coefficient from the manufacturer’s catalogue; P1 - absolute inlet fluid pressure; PvapourA - absolute fluid vapour pressure at the inlet temperature; Use Atmospheric pressure = 101.3 kPa, P1 = 1200 kPa(g), PvapourA = 4 kPa, KM = 0.72

I was working on calibrating turbidity transmitters endress+hauser at effluent polishing plant. We calibrated using NTU buffers. What happened is that when we immersed the sensor, everytime we raise and lower the sensor gradually, the reading will vary.my question is that is there any specifications on what is the required distance from the bottom of the container with buffer to the face of the sensor? Is it ok to install the sensor in a medium which has turbulence specially if bubbles are present?
