how the velocity of the liquid is converted into pressure
energy in a volute casing?
finally we are getting high velocity or high pressure?

volute casing is generally spiral in shape with increasing cross-sectional area..when water flows through this then according to continuity equation its velocity decreases resulting in decrease in its kinetic energy...now according to bernoulli's theorem total energy during the flow remains constant, so when kinetic energy decreases then pressure energy and potential energy increases....but increase in potential energy is negligiible
