What is the difference between Configuration and
Customization? I have been asked this question in an recent
interview. How to answer this question along with examples?

Configuration means you develop standard configuration as
per standard SAP. You are using available tables, fields
from SAP.
Customization means you add new fields or use User Exits
which is not standard SAP. You need to create Functional
Specification, Technical write up about new changes. You
need to conduct unit and technical test with details of
transports. This is as per client's or business requirements.

Issue: the problem faced by us right now is,when there are more than 2 route codes available, users can select a wrong route code which is a longer route for the destination, the physical shipment can still go through a shorter route, but company will end up in paying more.
