Why we choose 400kv,220kv,132kv,66kv,33kv transmission
voltages for transmitting power. Why not other voltage
levels.
Answer Posted / srinivasa rao gampa
Actually the earlier the voltage are generated by assuming
10% voltage drop in transmission.Suppose if you want 100v at
the receiving end assuming 10v drop in transmission 110v are
generated at the sending end.So all these voltages are
multiples of 1.1, Its not bcoz of form factor. But in general
with improved design now a days we may choose any volatge
levels of practical usage.
