In step down transformer (415/200V),mistakenly secondary
side is connected to 415V for some hours, what would be
result of this condition?
Answer Posted / pillay
this is a case of a stepdown transformer being used as
step up transformer.
as mr milan has said 816.12 would be at the other side.
generally nothing would have happened to the transformer
other than being warm.the transformers insulation class
would be able to take care of the higher voltage.
If the other side the 816.12 volt have been connected to
the
load (suppose to be 200 volts)than damage would have
happened
to the load, the extent depending on what type of
load.
