Question { NFCL, 67826 }

what is the difference between fermentor and bioreactor?

Answer

Operational principal carried out in fermentor and bioreactor are almost simliar,and can be defined as the biochemical reaction carried out in interest of suitable products by using certain bio-meto driving agent :say enzyme or microrganism..and they can be either operated in aerobic or anerobic..
DIFFERENCE:
1.IN fermentor the reaction can be carried by both enzyme,catalyst or micro organism and animal cell etc.. but in biorector only living cells or their product can attribute to yield of metabolites.
(Say-chem/biochemical in fermentor whereas only biochemical in bioreactor).
2.Basic Fermentor design will be somewhat constant except certain imbelled parameters such as varying measurements or size,spare parts design(impeller)heat and mass transfer based design,,and their mode of operation will be three namely batch,fed batch and continuous.....
whereas the basic bioreactor designs has many option such as packed bed,fluidized bed bioreactor,IVFR,Air lift bioreactor.one should select the above said design based on reaction going to carried out.

Question { 5410 }

Hello Sir!!!!!
I've completed my BSc Biotechnology this year only with an
aggregate of 76%.......Now I am in great confusion whether I
go in this line only or opt for MBA......
Because I want to do a job......
Is that doing MSc biotech from U.K will help me more in
finding job.....What kind of job I'll get after doing MSc
Biotech......
Please reply

Answer

hi,
Frankly speaking the scope of biotechnology is very less in India..even 1000s of mSC Graduates and 100 s of M.TECH s are still begging for getting job in core.If u want to get shine in the field of biotech then write NET or GATE exam,acquire some great knowledge(to clear the interview) and get into Some IIT or NIT..& this will earn u a good job.
Plz dont opt for uk master degree...many MS programs conducted by them are 1 year courses which wont be valid in india...Dont waste ur parents money or ur precious time in joining such university....As far my concern getting degree in abroad may not be waste but worthless(except certain universities like NTU ,NUS,MIT etc....)if i want to say in short then"biotechnology degree is for the people who like to struggle and comeup with intellectual and sensible not for those with middle class family or in mind set to earn money.
One more thing incase if u repent for joining Biotech degree(UG) then dot worry opt for MBA which can diversify you job prospects...
