this induction melting is same as common induction melting
but here the vaccum is facilated to avoid oxidation. i
think always the avoiding the heat loss in every melting
furnace.so here swathi & ankit has rong statement

using this method one can ensure melting with minimal heat
loss , fast melting and minimal power consumption since
there is no transmission media for heat dissipation loss.
Like Swathi said it is a form of melting in a vacuum
chamber by Electric induction process.

Does case harden steel properties detoriates over time? Especially for guns, parts like bolt carrier, the brand new parts has been kept for 10 year and properly oiled. I am worried about its surface hardness to take the blow during firing.
