WHY TRANSFORMERS ARE RATED IN 11KV 22KV 33KV Instead off 10kv 20kv 30kv..

Answer / syam kumar

beacuse Tranformer output voltage is given by the equation

E = 4.44f(phi)N

so Voltages are multiples of 1.11

WHY TRANSFORMERS ARE RATED IN 11KV 22KV 33KV Instead off 10kv 20kv 30kv..

Answer / vipul mali

because form factor is definded by

ff= r.m.s. value/average value

ff= 1/root 2/ 2f/ pi

ff= 1.11

so all the equipments are disigned with this value.
