Explicitly joined fields cannot be edited. They are read
only.In case of dynmaic picklist ; it is the Foreign key id
used in Join Definition gets edited and accordingly we see
joined value.

Join field can be updated by configuring either dynamic
pick list or MVG Applet on the field
