Mark ate half of a pizza on Monday. He ate half of what was
left on Tuesday and so on. He followed this pattern for one
week.
How much of the pizza would he have eaten during the week?

Mark would have ate 127/128 (99.22%) of the pizza during the
week.
Mark ate half the pizza on Monday. On Tuesday, he would have
ate half of the remaining pizza i.e. 1/4 of the original
pizza. Similarly, he would have ate 1/8 of the original
pizza on Wednesday and so on for the seven days.
Total pizza Mark ate during the week is
= 1/2 + 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/16 + 1/32 + 1/64 + 1/128
= 127/128
= 99.22% of the original pizza

1/4 on the second..., 1/4 left

on the 7th day, ate 1/128 and 1/128 is left.
so, he ate 1-(1/128) of the pizza

Given, Ram ate half a cheese on Monday he ate half of what was left on Tuesday and so on.
Amount of cheese eaten by Ram =12+12×12+12×12×12……..+127
⇒ Amount of cheese eaten by Ram =12×1−1271−12
⇒ Amount of cheese eaten by Ram =12×1−112812=127128=0.9922
∴ Amount of cheese eaten by Ram in% = 99.22%
