Webi Reports are developed in web browser only. This is now
not the case in XIR3.0 and XIR3.1

Crystal Reports are mainly developed using desktop client.
Also in Release 2 onwards you can develop crystal reports
in browser but not all the functionality of desktop is
available.


Webi Reports can be developed by power users whereas
crystal reports is not a tool for power user.

Crystal Reports can be embedded in desktop / web based
applications without requiring any servers at back end.

Webi Reports can be embedded only in Web based Applications
and for desktop applications ( TCP /IP ) will be required.

Crystal Reports originated from Seagate. Seagate was then
took over by Business Objects. Whereas Wb Intelligence is
Business Objects Product froms start.

Webi Reports have drill filters facility where data is
stored in browser and user can slice and dice the data.
Crystal Reports do not have out of fox feature.

"WebI reports has an advantage when the report is of Ad-hoc variety. WebI is intuitive and allows for users to drag and drop fields to create quick reports. Most of the logic in WebI is handled in the universe, so reports can be quickly developed. Further fields are defined in business terms, as opposed to to database/IT terms, so the report developer only needs to understand his/her business and not the details of the structure of the database.

Crystal Reports has an advantage when the presentation and formatting of the report is of the highest concern. Crystal allows for pixel perfect, high fidelity reports, and allows the report developer more control of the presentation and data access. Crystal reports take a bit longer to develop, and require a higher understanding of database design and logic.

WebI reports is the better solution when the report needs to be developed quickly and will be developed by a Business User. Crystal Reports is the better solution when the report presentation is of the highest concern, and the report can be developed by an IT Developer of Business Power User."

working with Business Objects 6.1(a), i m facing a problem. when i save the BO report containing chart aswell as table in .xls then the null vlues in the table automatically are converted to 0, thereby istorting the chart also. please provide me the solution as soon as possile.
