As per my understanding of your question...
Using Scheduler you can refresh a report at a specific time
or interval, where you get a copy of refreshed report with
the refreshed data to your infoview inbox (in 6.5v), or you
can configure to receive the report to receive in
excel/csv/pdf format to your email id as an attachment in
XIR2 version. or you can save the refreshed report at a
location on your PC itself once the scheduled report is
completed in XI R2.

There is difference between Scheduling the report and
running the report.
Scheduling means periodically executing the report at a
specified time period which gives you the latest refreshed
data according to the prompts given at the time of
scheduling.
