equal to concrete. so steel is the suitable material for
reinforcement

Answer / pooja
gold bar is very rare& costtly, hence uneconomical to use
as well it is much ductile in its pure state hence has
lesser tensile strenth than steel so steel bar is used
instead of steel

Answer / a. shunmugam
The coefficient of thermall expansion of concrete is same
as that of the steel and so steel bars are used for
reinforcement

Answer / sakthi
NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THERMAL CO-EFFICIENT AND AVAILABILITY.
Consideration of these two factors also important.
Young's Modulus and Ultimate Strength.
Element Young's Modulus Ultimate Strength
Aluminum 70 45
Gold 79 100
silver 83 170
copper 130 210
Iron 211 350

Answer / dunstan
1. gold is expensive
2.gold tensile strength<< steel tensile strength.
3. we can't use pure gold bar(bcos it must mix with another
material)

Coefficient of thermal expansion of concrete is 2 x 10⁶
where as coefficient of thermal expansion of steel is 2.1 x
10⁶ which is more-less same. For this reason in concreting
steel is used not gold.

Answer / md. umair khan
Because, it is left for heaven..!
Just kidding.
Because, steel and concrete have same coefficient of expansion, gold is a rare metal, less strong and costly.

Answer / sangamesh
BECAUSE STEEL HAS HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH THAN GOLD...AND IT IS MORE STRONG IN TENSION....AND IT IS GOOD CONDUCTOR OF HEAT AND ELECTRICITY....

Temperature variations in steel are too low to compare to
other suitable materials
