I'm one among the Group1(mains) candidates, waiting for the
results. Y'day(16th Oct-08) in ETV2 Pratidwani, the
discussion on 'APPSC GROUP-1' suspected that the main exam
may be cancelled and it was mentioned in the program, that
Supreme court judgment may support the High court decision.
Is it possible to cancel the exam at this stage? after
making this much of efforts???

I don't think so....
As supreme court itself given permission to conduct mains
exams. And now again cancelling. It's a contradictory.
And as per APPSC statistics in each category(OC,BC-A B C
D,SC) there are sufficient candidates qualified(50%). Only
PH,Women,ST are lagging. But the candidates in all these
categories are sufficient enough to have a required mark for
the interview(1:2), so i hope the best, a positive result.

If judgment comes against APPSC, then Govt., may took an
initiative to increase posts and allow more candidates for a
fresh MAINS exams, like 2004 Group1 issue.
Any how the judgment may come in this month itself.

Yes, there is a possibility for the cancellation of Mains
only. since the Supreme court verdict earlier was only
reply to the petition to stop the exam due to alleged
irregularities in the Mains selection not on the whole
reservation issue.
but this possibility is remote since by cancellation they
will put 9800 selected mains candidates in disadvantage. as
one of the member has suggested they may issue a increase
in seats in the next notification. since the present case
is voilation of fundamental rights, the judgement can go
anyway.

Dear Friends
It seems the file went to constitutional expert board for
the advice. So, the decision may come in either way. But if
the APPSC is able to support their POLICY, then decision may
come in favor of them, Like.,
****1)Even though UPSC and different states(Karnataka,TN)
following the Reservations in Prelims itself, they are
selecting candidates for mains exams, with only 1:14 ratio.
Where as APPSC is selecting 1:50.
*****2)So this minimum figure(1:14) is very much satisfied
in the current list(Gr-1 2008,9811 list. with enough
candidates in each category).
*****3)But, Women candidates are not enough in the list. I
think at constitutional level it will be the issue of
candidate with their community(SC,ST,OBC,PH), not with the
GENDER.
****4)Regarding candidates who went to court.., Among them
the eligible candidates were permitted for the mains.
w.r.t this 4th point, thinking of candidates who are not
able to approach the high level of courts(HIGHCOURT,SC).For
them, how the justice can be made, as the mains exam was
conducted already with SC order.

hai this is gopi, when will be the judgment can be announced by supreme court about group -1 mains exam. there are rumoures that exam may be cancelled? what will be the future status ......

APPSC was my interest from my college(thats in 2000) days but could not pursue due to circumstances. Now I have the affordable money and time. I was browsing google and came across this site. I appreciate the way people have responded with answers and I want your suggestion, please. I am an MCA with 4yrs work exp. Now if I want to give APPSC can any of you suggest: 1)what papers I can opt for. some said public Admin and sociology but I want something in combination with computers. can you please !! 2)how much time per day do we need to dedicate at home if we are wokring and attending to coaching classes. this will help me have an idea If i can or cant I !! 3)seeing politics soo much in our country involved in everything, how best do you think are these APPSC exams w.r.t job if you get posted. 4)APPSC is not was it was in the days before once you join the job when posted. Its all ppolitics now. Is it worth for these exams or is working in pvt companies safe with no politiical hustle. If its job dignity then yes, but if its money and peaceful work, then is it ???? 5)Can I please know usually which month are the prelims exams, the mains and the interview. I read your answers ...
