Why do we use FM for sound and AM for video in TV
transmisssion?

In case of FM,we have to vary the frequency according to
the modulating frequency and amplitude remains costant
thats why to eliminate the losses due to the amplitude is
very small that is required for clear sound.
In second case the amplitude of the incoming signal varies
and the frequency remains constant that is required for
sharp and clear picture.

FM provides a better scheme as compared to AM as far as performance is concerned (especially in non-linear channels).
the video signal needs very high bandwidth to cover minute details which would turn to be impracticable to be commercialized. therefore AM is used for video part.
the bandwidth needed for sound signals is much much lesser than its video part so FM is affordable for sound signals.
therefore FM is used for sound signals.

basically eye is not sensitive to detect some noises in
video. but ears can detect highly sensitive to noise in
sound......
so FM has constant amplitude which is less senstive to
distortion is used in sound transmission. and AM is used in
video transmission

fm is used in sound because every person have a different
voice quality and different voice frequency .and in fm
frequency change with respect to the information .every
person have a different voice frequency so we are using fm
in sound so we can get natural frequency effect in sound
........
but in video we are using am because in video
color, contrasts can be easily adjusted in am and video are
making on frame so frame can be easily adjusted on am so we
are using am in video ...

in FM the amplitude ramains constant.it is a property of the
noise disturbance that it affects the amplitude of the
signal.so at the recieving end if we found the amplitude
variation in FM wave then it will be due to the noise hence
it can be eliminated by using the appropriate filter without
the loss of information.hence FM is used for sound signals.
