AM is better for distant communication.FM is used only for
small geografical areas.line of sight propagation is used
in fm.in AM we can transmitsignals to long distances.

fm communication system is preferred than AM comm. sys.
since amplitude of signal sensitive to noise in the
atmosphere than frequency.. hence fm is preferred

Electromagnetic waves amplitude fades as distance increases and in AM amplitude is key parameter to regenerate the signal, so for distant communication AM is not suitable.

Where as in FM amplitude is not a major parameter for signal regeneration, so it is suitable to use FM considering quality and interference factor.

FOR DISTANCE COMMUNICATION FM SYSTEM IS BETTER BECAUSE
FREQUENCY IS THE MAIN PARAMETER OF REGENERATION WHICH IS
LESS EFFECTED WITH DISTANCE WHEREAS IN CASE OF AM
AMPLITUDE IS THE PARAMETER OF REGENERATION WHICH IS MORE
EFFECTED WITH DISTANCE.

FM COMMUNICATION IS BETTER FOR THE DISTANCE COMMUNICATION
BECAUSE IN AM THERE IS MORE CHANCESS OF INTEREFERENCE AND
IT CANT TRAVEL MORE DISTENCE WHEREAS IN FM THE INFORMATION
IS SEND IN THE FORM OF FREQUENCY WHICH CAN TRAVELLES LONG
DISTANCE WITHAOUT INTEREFERENCE.
