Slicers – Slicing is a process which could be used to eliminate the data which is not necessary for current analysis. for example if we are interested in analysis of the sales of a product during the first quater of the year then we can drill down the time dimension to resolution 2 level and then slice the cube for the first three months leading to the slicing process

If the above process is carried out in certical direction we call it dicing
