In order to avoid dis ambiguity, let the day starts at 1:00 am.
Now from 1:00 am to 11:00 am, the minute hand crosses the
hour hand 10 times.
Now 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, it crosses only once ( at the
instance 12:00 pm). So it is 11 times for 12 hr period. Now
for 24 hr period, i.e., till 1:00 am of another day it is
2*11=22 times

since hour hand traat .5 degrees /min and minute hand travels at 6degrees /min so there relative speed is 5.5 deg/min
so they will meet after every 360/5.5 minutes
so
in a day they will meet 24/350/5.5 i.e 22 times
