yes we can run pc without hdd. using bootrom in your NIC,
this bootrom which is programed to attache the server. for
particular desktop, ti's also called terminal server

we can run our pc without hdd, but we'll not use all feature
just like a Graphic. But possible in networking that use
other system hdd.

You can use a computer with out a hard disk and you can use all most all the features of it.
Follow below procedure to use this:
Go to the below and download Ubuntu live CD:
http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download
After the download, write it to a CD and insert the cd in the system. System will boot from the CD and you will get the option you want to install or try.
Select try and it will load the OS. After that you can connect the internet. If you have a USB drive connect it and then you will be able to use all the other features.
