A ship went on a voyage. After it had travelled 180 miles a plane statrted with 10 times the speed..

Answer / sneha

let the time travelled aftr travelling 180m be t
so the eqn becomes
180+x*t=10*x*t
solving we get xt=20
and total distance travelled is 180+20=200m

A ship went on a voyage. After it had travelled 180 miles a plane statrted with 10 times the speed..

Answer / praveen

let Xmph be the speed of the ship. so after 1 hour it would
have travelled 180+x miles . and the plane would have
travelled 10x miles..
so the distance covered by the train and the plane is

180+x=10x;
180=9x;
x=20

so the distance travelled by the train is 180+20=200miles.

A ship went on a voyage. After it had travelled 180 miles a plane statrted with 10 times the speed..

Answer / neha

Let ship and plane meet after d miles after 180 miles from
starting point.
Let t be the time taken to travel d miles by ship & 180+d
miles by plane
So the eqn is:
Time taken by ship to travel d by ship = Time taken by
plane to travel 180+d miles
d/x=180+d/10x
on solving, we get d = 20 miles
So they meet after 180+20 = 200 miles from starting point.
Ans = 200 miles

A ship went on a voyage. After it had travelled 180 miles a plane statrted with 10 times the speed..

Answer / muhammed fayis pm

assume velocity of ship v1=1m/sec.so velocity of plane
v2=10m/sec.hence to reach 180 mile,plane takes 18sec,at
this time ship has covered 198miles.plane takes 1 sec to
reach 190mile from 180.while ship is at 199mile.plane
againe took 1 sec to reach 200 from 190.during this
remaining 1sec of ship, reaches to 200mile.so they meet at
200th mile

In the middle of the confounded desert, there is the lost city of "Ash". To reach it, I will have to travel overland by foot from the coast. On a trek like this, each person can only carry enough rations for five days and the farthest we can travel in one day is 30 miles. Also, the city is 120 miles from the starting point. What I am trying to figure out is the fewest number of persons, including myself, that I will need in our Group so that I can reach the city, stay overnight, and then return to the coast without running out of supplies. How many persons (including myself) will I need to accomplish this mission?
