Hey, i think the answer is partially correct. In therotical
terms we say both dev and qa starts from information
gathering phase. Just think yourself as a tester and find
out from in phase you involve.

In v-model the tester starts after getting the SRS document
from the TL in the same manner developers work will start
from software design after receiving the SRS document
Later the main "system testing" will start only after
getting the software build from the developers
So system testing starts only after receiving the build from
the developers till that they will prepare the required
documents like test strategy,Test cases,Later Conducting
system testing,Preparing Test log document.
