hi all, I have installed QTP successfully on windows vista. I am able to record and run on windows applications, but facing problem with web applications. While recording, I am able to open the web application, but when I click on any object or give login name and password, the events are not getting recorded in QTP. Could anyone solve the problem. Any settings to be done for web applications other than selecting web-addin? Waiting for replies. Thanks in advance.

Without QTP (or any Testing tool) can we able to test the GUI part of the Applications. for Example generating the Scripts in Notepad and Executing them Using VB. Is it Possible to do so.. Correct me if iam wrong some where.

Out of 3 recording modes. 1.Standard 2.Analog 3.Low-level, which one is commonly used. As per my knowledge, Analog is used for Graphs , barcoding or DIgital signatures.

I wanted to create Data Driven test for login page (loginname,password). Password is same for all the loginnames. I recorded the script for one user. I mentioned all the user names in the global excel sheet with the column name as "Loginname". I mentioned 5 loginnames. I selected tools- >datadriver and select loginname. Select parameterize and select parameter all option.Changed the parameter name to "loginname" which i mentioned in the global excel sheet. I executed the script. For the users 2 and 4 only, the script is failing... can anybody explain why the script is failing for users 2 and 4.
