Convective heat transfer depends on fluid flow, temperature difference between the solid and fluid surfaces, and physical properties of the fluid (density, specific heat, viscosity). The rate of convective heat transfer can be increased by increasing the velocity of the fluid, decreasing the thermal resistance between the solid and fluid surfaces, or using forced convection instead of natural convection.
