Mention the quality parameters.
Answer / Mani Prakash
In Textile Engineering, some of the key quality parameters are:
1. Yarn Count (Ne) - Number of yarns per unit length or linear density in decitex (dtex).
2. Yarn Twist (T) - Number of twists per unit length of a yarn in twist meters.
3. Yarn Tenacity (TS) - Maximum force that can be withstood by a yarn in breaking before it fails, measured in cN/dtex or gram-force (gf).
4. Yarn Elongation (E) - Amount of extension a yarn undergoes when subjected to load, measured as a percentage.
5. Moisture Regain Value (MRV) - Percentage weight gain of a dried fabric sample after immersing it in water for a specific period.
6. Fabric Density - The number of yarns per unit area of the fabric.
7. Fabric Thickness - The thickness of a fabric measured in mils or denier.
