basket using because to keep the tablet or capsule at
perticulor place. no need to use in case of
suspension,solutions, emulsions etc

Basket is used when the dosage form is either floating or getting stick at the bottom of the dissolution vessel. at this condition active moiety will have problem to get diffuse in dissolution medium.

Basket is mainly used when the Dissolution Medium must have to get changed during the testing ( in continuation ). During the dissolution Analysis of Enteric Coated units first we use to check dissolution of the API in to the 0.1 N HCl medium in order to check any release of drug in Acid medium or not for 2 hours ( equal to gastric Emptying time ) than we changed medium to 6.8 pH phosphate buffer equal to Intestinal fluid to carry out complete dissolution of the dosage form.
