1. The main problem in the distribution is power factor.
* The main problem in distribution is Losses
* We cannot save the power, due to long distance the losses will be high.
*Due to natural defects in lightning.

Power Factor, I can understand but the other problems like losses and lightning is related to transmission right? Could you please tell me some problems like overloading, sparking, grounding etc.. I would really appreciate your help.

Some of the problems are:
1. A real transformer has series impedances in it so the
output voltage of a transformer varies wit the load even if
the input voltage is constant. This is solved by voltage
regulation.
2. Local variations in voltages. This is solved by transformer
taps.
3. Requirements of small changes in voltage which are too
costly to solve by a normal transformer can be solved using an
autotransformer.
And maybe some more.

My question is whether bellow formula is correct to find bus size for 46kA for 0.5 second & what is RT in bellow formula. formula to calculate the size of busbar to withstand the thermal stresses due to currents with duration of 0.2 sec to 5 sec. Sp = RT( I x I x t) / K Where Sp – is the cross sectional area of bus bar in millimeters. I - is the value of AC fault current. t - is the operating time of disconnecting device in seconds. K – is the factor depending on the material of the conductor, insulation and initial and final temperature. Value of ‘k’ for copper is 143.
