what are the software groups in solaries?please explain them?
Answer / nitin thakur
Software groups are set of packages. When you install
Solaris is asks you what group to install. entire + OEM is
what I use, it installs everything thats on DVD to the
server. If you say minimal, then only those packages are
installed which are just required to boot a server. The
groups are: -
reduced network support software group (SUNWCrnet)
core system support software group (SUNWCreq)
end user system support software group (SUNWCuser)
developer software group (SUNWCprog)
entire system support software group (SUNWCall)
entire + OEM software group (SUNWCXall)
