1-How to calculate the CFM of HVAC ? 2-if we have CFM and then how can we calculate AC Duct size?..

Answer / jaikumar

IN REFRIGATION WE TAKE
1 TR = 400 CFM (cubic feet per minutec)

As we all are aware of the following formula which is;

flow = area * velocity
i.e.
Q=A*V
( where Q= Air quntity in cubic feet per minute,V =
velocity in feet per minute,A = Area in square feet)

the value of velocity is depend on the different type of
air conditioning application
generaly for offices 1200 FPM
so put this two values of velocity and CFM in above foremula
we get DUCT AREA in sq.ft. then take the height or width as
per site.

now (Area /height = width)

that is the duct size.
