A hollow cube of size 5 cm is taken, with a thickness of 1
cm. It is made of smaller cubes of size 1 cm. If 4 faces of
the outer surface of the cube are painted, totally how many

the volume of the cube is 125... so its is made up of 125 smaller cubes. cubes have 8 faces ...so total no of faces =125*8=1000.. one face of the larger cube is made up of 25 faces of the smaller cube (5*5 area)
so 4 faces of the outer surface =4*25=100 faces are painted.. the remaining=1000-100
