the volume of the cube is 125... so its is made up of 125 smaller cubes. cubes have 8 faces ...so total no of faces =125*8=1000.. one face of the larger cube is made up of 25 faces of the smaller cube (5*5 area)
so 4 faces of the outer surface =4*25=100 faces are painted.. the remaining=1000-100
