what is diffence between synchronus and asynchronus AC
motor.?
Answer / karthik_elec
synchronous motor means its run in synchronous speed,in the
stator side 3 phase winding placed same like squirrel cage
motor but in rotor dc field winding is placed. when the
motor comes up the synchronous speed, the dc excitation
switched on in the rotor side, and the motor pulls itself
in synchronism, because of the synchronism no voltage is
generated in the aux rotor winding during the operation,
asynchronous motor means squrriel cage motor, squrriel cage
coil is placed in the rotor side, when supply given to the
stator, rotating flux will cut the rotor, and there is some
mechanical force develop, this force tends to rotate the
rotor shaft, it will not run synchronous speed.
