AVR-Automatic voltage regulators. alos they are called line
drop compensators. they are used to regulate the supply
voltage to the distribution network. thay r used in
transformers and generators. they sense the secondary PT
voltage and correspondingly change the tap position of OLTC
to regulate the secondary output voltage.

We are installing a 1.6 MVA transformer at our crusher plant and the feeder of HPSEBL is 2 km away at substaion . and a VCB is installed in the substaion which is 2 km away from transformer so we need another VCB near the transformer.
