the portion taken out will be in the ratio 5:3.
let the portion taken out be 'x'
so it is removed in the ratio 5:3
ie
5-(5/8)x and 3 - (3/8)x
since 'x' parts of water is again added, the eqn should be
5-(5/8)x = 3 -(3/8)x + x
=> 2= (5/4)x
hence x=8/5
INITIALLY WE HAVE ASSUMED THAT THEIR IS 8 UNITS SOLUTION SO PART REMOVED COMES OUT TO BE 8/5.
THEREFORE ACTUAL PART OF MIXTURE TAKEN OUT IS 8/5/8 = 1/5.

Answer / akbar
here we have 5 part shave lotion(S) and 3 part water(W) so
mixture will be 5 + 3 = 8 part. we are removing some part
say X from mixture (ie 8 part) and again adding X part
water in it. so final mixture remains same 8 part. now we
will be having equal part of S and W which is nothing but 4
part S and 4 Part W. so X must be 3 = 1S + 2W
5 + 3 = 8;
8 - 3(ie 1S + 2W) = 5;
5 + 3W = 8(4S + 4W);

Q1. Given a collection of points P in the plane, a 1-set is a point in P that can be separated from the rest by a line, .i.e the point lies on one side of the line while the others lie on the other side. The number of 1-sets of P is denoted by n1(P). The minimum value of n1(P) over all configurations P of 5 points in the plane in general position(.i.e no three points in P lie on a line) is
