Test Engineers are basically works on the Staging server which is having the save environment and the configuration as client is having.

The testing server is like that of the clients production
server.

there are 2 kinds of server one is production other is testing
first we have to test on testing server and if everything is working fine on testing server we move to production server
we wont test on production because once we have released an application live users will be using the application if developers does any code change on production it may effect the live users so we use testing server
