D2 is most commonly used Cold working tool steel material
in manufacturing industries.
the typical composition includes high Cr content of 10-13%
with increased content in C (1-1.5%) and Mn(1-2%) also.
It is characterised by
-HIgh hardness
-High resistance to tempering upto 500 Des Cel
-High wear and abrasion resistance

For the same part, it is possible to Specify the two different type of Hardness with same scall(EX-Quenching and tempering==>450 to 500HV30 & Hardening and Austempering 330- 380HV30)
