Yes, it is possible, but you need following items,
1) 5000 vusers licensed version
2) The system configuration should be good, like p4 or more
3) Proper virtual user script,
If you have all the above requirement you can do the
test with 5000 usrs

connection with a very good speed if u are testing some

You test the scalability testing by apllying load more than the designed number of users. If you dont know the designed number of users then how you do the scalability test?
