Any application you see online which says beta version can
be considered as undergoing a beta testing..
In other words when the application is ready to launch its
given to users to use and send feedback.Its called beta
testing.Beta testing comes under acceptance testing.

eg: GMAIL it was in beta version for continuous 5 yrs fromt
he day it was released that is we were using its beta
version till date...it is now working as a fully developed
appln for past few months...

for example an application is developed and is released to the market for example an android application which is free so before final release they release to the market as beta
here live users use this and report problem and the developers fix & do final release
