Refinery can be difined as a chemical plant where the crude
oil derived from well which cant be used directly in its
virgin form for any purpose until it passes through various
unit operations like de saltination,cracking,
distilllation, evaporation, etc. is processed. This
processing convert the crude oil into diffrent usable
product as a result of unit operations as per its chemical
properties.
The refinery covers wide range prodcuts mainly
Gasoline, diesel, tar, many Hydrocarbon either in gaseous or
liquid from. The refinery is established intending key
products in mind as per the needs.

REACTION ENGINEERING - EXAMPLE 13.3 : The half-life for first order reaction could be described in the differential equation dC / dt = -kC where k is a constant, C is concentration and t is time. (a) Find the equation of C as a function of t. (b) Find the half life for such reaction or the time required to reduce 50 % of the initial concentration, where k = 0.139 per minute. (c) When the initial concentration Co is 16 mol / cubic metre, how long does the reaction required to achieve the final concentration of 1 mol / cubic metre?

Question 76 - Let C% be the fractional crystallinity, Rs = density of sample, Ra = density of amorphous form and Rc = density of crystalline form. In a polymer, these unknowns could be related by the equation C% = (Rc / Rs) (Rs - Ra) / (Rc - Ra). (a) Find the equation of Rc as a function of C%, Rs and Ra. (b) Two samples of a polymer, C and D exist. For sample C, C% = 0.513 when Rs = 2.215 unit. For sample D, C% = 0.742 when Rs = 2.144 unit. Both samples C and D have the same values of Ra and Rc. Find the values of Ra and Rc in 6 decimal places.
