Because -ve voltage is less prone to corosity as compared
to +ve voltage.
You can even see on batteries fitted with inverter in our
homes that only +ve terminal get corrogated and damaged.

Becase when we use -ve port for the equepment we use GND as
the refrence and so it would not damaged by corroson of the
power supply.

because we use +ve as a refrence (
ground) mostly damged batteries if u have seen the +ve
portion of the cell were damaged.
