what is vapaur lock? how it can b suppressed?
Answer / hiren patel
Vapor lock is when the fuel in the fuel line becomes too hot from engine heat (along with outdoor heat) and causes the liquid fuel to turn into a vapor state. The engine won't run with it in this state as it can't be sprayed and controlled by the injectors and pressure regulators properly.
Usually there is enough fuel flow and pressure to keep this from happening, but if the fuel pump, pressure regulators or injectors are going bad, there may not be enough pressure in the fuel line to prevent it. Also, if a fuel line is too close to an exhaust pipe or hot part of the engine and not properly insulated, it can cause this.
So, it really depends on a lot of things, properly working equipment, good engineering design, and good fuel all make a difference.
Insulating your fuel line wil help, also making sure your fuel system is in good working condition will help prevent vapor lock.
Usually letting an engine sit and cool down for awhile will allow the fuel to turn back into a liquid and the car will run again.
