in general there are three types of power indicated
horsepower,brake horsepower and frictional power.
the power obtained from engine cylinder is indicated hp
the power obtained from the crank shaft is brake hp
this indicated hp and brake hp differs by frictional power

what is advantage of hllow shaft over solid shaft aprt from material saving? does hollow shaft absorb more vibration than solid shaft?
