performance testing is done usually to test the performance
of your application, I mean the response times in opening
the web page(LOGIN), navigating and so on till LOGOUT.
Tuning depends what you want to tune according to the errors
occured after the test like database tuning(after the
identification of bottlenecks).

suppose in ur company one new project is came for testing applictaion.. duration 1 year.. so,with in one week manual tester role starts and qtp(any) testers role starts..and others role starts,,,,BUT WHEN THE PERFORMANCE TESTER ROLE STARTS... in the midle of the project or ending of the project..and how many months it takes to starts the load runner tester role begins?

While scripting you created correlation rules for automatic correlation. If you want to share the correlation rules with your team member working on the same application so that he/she can use the same on his workstation, how will you do that?
