I need your kind support. I have more than 6yrs of exp in
s/w industry. I have worked on some DW technologies which
are out dated. For almost 1 year I was on bench.During this
bench period I learnt cognos on my own using online docs.
Hence I am alligned to a project few months ago to work on
cognos. Unfortunately after joining this project I did not
get opportunity to work on cognos. I am working on
different things apart from cognos.
I should get job in another company. Otherwise I am gone.
I am confident enough to get job on Cognos in another
company.
Please let me know is it possible to work on Cognos at lead
position (as my current position is at lead level) without
having real time experience.
Your response is highly appreciated and I will be grateful
to you.

Hi,
I will suggest you to join a coaching where you get some
real time project experience. As you are aware of the
dataware housing concepts so it will not be an big issue
for you to join as lead. Its just that other that reading
documents some hands of experience is very much required as
there you will be able to understand the true
implementation of logic.

not possible to laed project as team leader with cogos .
but i can suggest you why do not you see videos for cogos
from youtube.

hi, while opening the cognos8 in ie,the home page is coming,while clicking the report studio the blank page will come after it will showing the home page.But by clicking the cognos connection,Query studio in the same page it's open successfully. only for the report,analysis,event studio is not working properly.i didnot understanding the problem.Iam using the cognos8.1 and sql server 2005.and also checking the cognos connection by clicking the run and its success. Hi All, I have 1.6 years of experience in cognos in India. I always wanted to do a MS program to earn some money in US. But I think I am little late in taking the decision. As If I have to write my GRE it will be August or September of 2012 and will have to apply for fall 2013 as fall 2012 admissions are almost done now. So my concern is how will be my career do if my MS is at this stage,. i,.e. 3 years experience in Cognos and 2 years MS program in and again looking for job in U.S. Have I been too late in taking the call? I heard that MIS (Managing Information Systems) is having very good placements now. So guys, please advice me in taking the decision to have a good career and also in terms of earning money as I have few financial problems to solve (which I am hoping to solve when I get job in US after completion of my MS program).
