excitation means the dc supply which we are giving as usual
in the case of Synchronous generators on the rotor. In the
power plants we are using the three phase synchronous
generators called alternators. there the three phase ac
supply is conver ted into the dc with the help of Excitation
system. out put dc of this excitation is fed into the rotor
of the alternator
