Why are morning and evening less warm than noons ?

During morning and evening the ray are slanting and noon ray are direct vertical . When a place receive vertical ray place the place get hotter because direct ray is concentrated on small area where as the same amount of heat is spread over large area in case of oblique ray . This is all due to inclined axis of earth
