During the morning and the evenings the rays of the sun fall
slantingly, while at noon the sun is nearly over has and the
rays fall vertically. The vertical rays are hotter than the
rays of the sun fall vertically

During morning and evening the ray are slanting and noon ray are direct vertical . When a place receive vertical ray place the place get hotter because direct ray is concentrated on small area where as the same amount of heat is spread over large area in case of oblique ray . This is all due to inclined axis of earth
