How to calculate the cement, sand quantity for plastering?
(10'x10')10mm thick ratio 1:5. wht"s the formula?
Answer Posted / harish po
100sqm,12mm thick,CM 1:4 plastering
volume = 100x(12/1000)=1.20 cum
Add 30% as bulking of sand=(1.2x30)/100=0.360 cum
Add 20% as wastage =((1.2+0.36)x20)/100=0.312 cum
Total=1.872 cum
volume of mortar=1.872/(1+4) =0.374 cum
volume of cement = 0.374 cum x 30 bag/cum =10.77 bag
10.77 bag x 50 kg/bag =538.5 kg for 100 sqm
(for 1sqm 12mm thick,CM 1:4 cement required=5.385kg)
volume of sand = 0.374 x 4 (CM 1:4) =1.496 cum for 100 sqm
(for 1sqm 12mm thick,CM 1:4 sand required=0.01496 cum/0.53cft)
