How to calculate the cement, sand quantity for plastering?
(10'x10')10mm thick ratio 1:5. wht"s the formula?

10 feet= 3.048m
Area=3.048*3.048=9.29m2
Thickness of plaster is 10mm or 0.01m
Volume of plaster = area*thickness
= 9.29*0.01
= 0.0929m3
Add 30% to fill up the joint,uneven surface etc
30% of 0.0929m3 = 0.027m3
The quantity of motar=0.0929+0.0279
=0.1208m3
Increase by 25% the total dry volume
25% of 0.1208m3=0.0302m3
Total dry volume= 0.1208+0.0302
= 0.151m3
For 1:5 sand motar.
quantity of cement=0.151/(1+5)
=0.02517m3
And for quantity of sand 0.02517*5=0.12585m3
Density of cement= 1400kg/m3
One bag of cement =50kg
Then volume of one bag cement=50/1400
0.0357m3
Now bag of cement=0.02512/0.0375
=0.67 bag i.e almost one bag
