CT is current transformer. it step downs the current to 5A or 1A. it is used for relaying and metering purpose.

why we use sinosidal voltage / current instead of others in system?
Different STANDARDS (BS, IS, IEC etc) gives different informations on CT specification. How they correspons w r t each other (i.e I mean to say BS provides "knee point voltage" but IS does not, then how can i select CT)
although ckt breakers have taken the place of old fuse. But instead of it , these older ones are still used in the industries and homes ? why .... what are their advantages and disadvantages ? which one is leading and winning the race and competition ?
