how much time will take for G+22 building for completion?
activity wise like excavation,sub
structure,superstructure,finishing,handover?
Answer Posted / mohammed shahid
Well, there are many factors the completion duration depends
on and a duration for the project of G+22 cannot be derived
and said to be so-and-so months, as not everything stays
ideal and as planned.
1. For Excavation - Area of the building and the depth and
also the type of earth we're excavating. (Hard rock takes a
longer duration than the soil)
2. Sub-structure - As you've mentioned it is a G+22, i'm
assuming there is no basement but usually a G+22 has
2basements. Hence as per your question and details provided
we're omitting the basements but still the area of the
building plays a major role and also the structural (RCC)
vertical members and the types of foundations. If it is a
raft foundation, it takes lesser time with say A number of
manpower and if its isolated footings with a few combined
footings with the same A number of manpower then the
duration might triple.
3.Superstructure - Depends on the area, the vertical
members, the depth of the beams, structural projections,
number of lift shafts and staircases. One suggestion here is
the "SLAB CYCLE" can be derived and the same an be
multiplied by 22 for the entire structural (RCC) work of the
building.
4.Finishing - The same concept of "SLAB CYCLE" can be
derived and multiplied by 22 for the finishing duration of
the building.
5.Handover - This shall include attending to the snagging
list of activities and rectification works if any. the same
can be considered as approximately 60days.
Still if the Interviewer demands for a duration at the end
of the above explanation (presuming he will not), you can
give him an approximate figure of 24months maximum.

Design a reinforced concrete combined footing (rectangular) for two columns located 3.60 metres apart. The overall sizes of the columns are 40cm x 40cm and 69cm x 60cm and the loads on them are 1000 kn and 1500 kn respectively. The space available for the width of the footing is restricted to 180cm. The S.B.C. of the soil is 280 kn/mm2 use M15 concrete.

As per Kandal suggestions, we have implemented rolling starts on 140 (+/- 5) degrees and we kept 3 rollars to complete the rolling before falling 125 degrees and the Aggregate AIV is below 22. But When the DBM bed is being rolled 3rd high viabration, (Before 1 plain & low ,2 high Viabrations), the aggregate is getting sharp edge agg. projections are damaged. As the literature is said that, the VG-30 Grade having better control the temp. susceptibility than Penetration grade. if so we could not get this problem at site. But we are facing on site. let me know.
